Preventing Head Lice

It is a good idea to use a lice prevention shampoo if the school has a lice outbreak. The lice are repelled by scents such as garlic and peppermint. Do not use harsh chemicals to prevent headlice even though you are concerned that your child may catch lice. These chemicals can cause illness and immune reactions.
